📝 Ingredients (for 4 people)

  • 4 large ripe plantains
  • 20 g fresh ginger, grated
  • 5 g garlic, minced
  • 1–2 fresh chilies, crushed (adjust heat)
  • 1 tsp ground cloves (optional but traditional in Ghana)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 100 ml vegetable oil (for frying)

👩🏽‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Peel the plantains and cut them into cubes or long strips.
  2. In a bowl, mix ginger, garlic, chilies, cloves, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  3. Toss the plantain pieces in the spice mix until fully coated.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry until golden and crispy on the outside and soft inside.
  6. Drain on a paper towel and serve warm.
