Ingredients

- 2 carrots (sliced)

- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 4 cups chicken broth

- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt & pepper to taste
For the dumplings:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
- In a pot, melt butter and sauté onion, carrots, and celery until softened.
- Add shredded chicken, broth, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a gentle boil.
- In a bowl, mix dumpling ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, melted butter, and milk.
- Drop small spoonfuls of the dough into the simmering pot.
- Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes until dumplings are fluffy.
- Stir in the milk or cream and simmer 3 more minutes.
