Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 800 g stewing beef (cut into chunks)
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 3 carrots (sliced)
- 2 potatoes (diced)
- 2 celery sticks (sliced)
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp rosemary
- 1 bay leaf
- 400 g chopped tomatoes
- 2–3 cups beef broth
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pot and brown the beef on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onions and garlic until soft.
- Add carrots, potatoes, and celery—stir for 3 minutes.
- Mix in tomato paste, paprika, thyme, and rosemary.
- Add browned beef back into the pot.
- Pour in chopped tomatoes and beef broth until everything is covered.
- Add bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer 1½–2 hours on low heat until beef is tender and sauce is rich.
